This shop started at home, with a house full of animals.

There's Mae Bell, a red merle Australian Shepherd with one ice-blue eye and one amber one. Elle Mae, a cream Goldendoodle built like a teddy bear. Abby Sue, a Great Pyrenees who is mostly a very large, very gentle cloud.

Then there are the cats, who — for reasons that made sense at the time — are all named after country singers. Patsy, Jolene, Loretta, and Lynn.

Patsy came to us during a thunderstorm, soaked through and skin and bones. She's now an enormous fluffy tabby who behaves as though she has always owned the place, and honestly, at this point she does.

Why we make these

Somewhere along the way we started making portraits of them — Mae Bell as Renaissance royalty, Jolene looking thoroughly unbothered in a crown, the whole crew lined up like they'd been arrested for something. Friends kept asking for their own.

So that's the shop. Every portrait is made from a real photo of a real animal that somebody loves, which is the only reason any of this works. A pet portrait isn't really about the artwork. It's about the specific ridiculous animal in your house and the fact that you'd like to look at their face on your coffee mug.

How we work

You send a photo. We make the portrait. We send it to you before we print anything, and we'll keep revising until it looks like your pet and not some other dog that vaguely resembles them. Then it ships.

That proof step is the whole promise. We'd rather redo the artwork three times than have you open a box and feel let down.
